How lucky am I that I get to goto the 3D Food Printing Conference?
Even after my epic fail at FabCON 3D 2014 I still have goals to spread the word about #3DFP (3D Food Printing), finish the BotBQ and of course hopefully inspire others to make their own imagination come to life.
Over the past few weeks I realized that I had to goto the 3D Food Printing Conference in Venlo, Holland held on the 21st of April, 2015. So I reached out to the people from Jakajima who are running the event and just asked: “Can I have a press pass?” – Note to reader: Don’t be afraid to ask for what you want in life!!! (also note: It took me a loong time to overcome my own fears to ask for what I wanted in life, so you’re not alone if you feel the same, but fret not.. just go for it.) After a couple reminders via social media… they politely replied to my email and to my surprise said they would grant my request to get a press pass to the event!
I am Really excited not only to learn a lot of what is going on right now in the world of 3D Food Printing but also to learn what is going on in the Future of 3DFP!
Over the next few days I will be doing a preview of the 3D Food Printing Conference Program that will be taking place and what I’m looking forward to about the presentations and what type of questions I may have.. so let’s get started.
21 April – Morning

Personally I think this is pretty cool that Jakajima decided to bring a bank with roots as such into the conference and of course I’m guessing they will bring up loans and financing of 3D Food Printing projects and the such so I am excited to hear what they have to offer. They’re probably not thinking about the small fish like me, but I’ll try to get their perspective on crowdfunding and see what their opinion is on it for launching and bringing ideas to life as opposed to straight up financing with a bank.
You’re probably getting the sense that the schedule is looking to be a pretty tightly run event and the people giving the presentations will be pressured for time somewhat. I feel the same. For a one day event to have +10 presentations isn’t that big of a deal.. but when you’ve got the heavy hitters as this event will have I can see where there may be jams and presentations going over the time limit. I’m wondering where I’ll be able to squeeze in a few minutes to talk with some of the people and even thinking about having some sort of meetup the night before just so I can get to some of the questions I’ve got, let alone any questions I may bring from the community.
As mentioned earlier, this is only the first half of the morning of the Program and in the coming days I will put the rest up with my notes as well so please stay tuned and come back for those. If you are interested in going to the event let me know and if you’re going to the event and interested in having a meetup let me know as well and I’ll make sure you get invited.
