Finally…. the extruder open source release is here!
It’s been a long time coming, but the BotBQ Extruder is now available for anyone to print themselves and 3D Print their own burgers!
Tweet about it right now if you like by clicking here: The @BotBQ is alive!
I only want to add some value to the RepRap and 3D Printing community by releasing this, and I will continue development on the complete BotBQ but I want to get this out so others may be able to experiment with it.
The Open Source Community has been good to me, I am a complete advocate for it and that is why I am making the BotBQ an open source release. You are free to tweak the design to your own specifications that fit your own needs best, and improve upon it and share it if you wish.
Stuff you need to get started:
– Currently the files are located at Thingiverse but you can download them from the BOM on this site also and I intend to put them up on Github as well shortly.
– BotBQ Extruder Bill of Materials
– BotBQ Extruder Assembly instructions
– BotBQ 3D Printer Firmware and Software Settings
I would also advise you to check out BotBQ on social media as well, and please feel free to post any failure or success you have with it, as well as any tweaks you may make to the design. There will be plenty of changes along the way, but stay tuned to the this site on BotBQ.org and if you want you can sign up for the newsletter RSS feed in the slider box to the top right of this post and you’ll get notified when something new happens here.
Here is a video of my very first attempt to 3d print a hamburger so you don’t get discouraged or nervous about 3D Printing your first burger-
If you think I may have missed something here, please let me know in the comments of get with me on one of the social media channels below. This is my first open source release and it has been a very excited journey so far. I hope you get some enjoyment out of it or at least a smile from knowing somebody really created a 3D Printing BBQ!
Thank you very much for following along and thanks for the support!
