How’d we do?
I consider it a huge win for the BotBQ! I went in with not so high hopes that people would be excited about hamburger extrusion and fully expecting to get some hardcore criticism. I WAS WRONG! As far as I could tell EVERYONE enjoyed it and I got a ton of laughs and giggles and smiles every time someone did a double take and asked me “what is that?” When I told them “It’s a 3D Printing BBQ!” of course the first thing everybody said was “a what….” and while I was explaining how it works the smiles just warmed up and I couldn’t be happier with the reception from everyone who I met at the event. (Although…. maybe they were just laughing at me thinking “this mofo is just crazy…” Oh well, I’m fine with that too 😉
# OS3DC meat and potatoes…
Besides Marcus and myself being present I also finally got to meet with Gina Haüßge, Nils Hitze , Henrik Peiss, HardwareKiller, Björn Marl and many more (who I apologize in advance to for not listing everybody here)! My lovely wife was so kind to bake some awesome cupcakes that got gobbled up, and in the evening there was a (kinda spendy) rindswurst selection being grilled next door. Some of the presentations included; OctoPrint, Autoloader and Drawbot from HackFFM, Make Germany e.V., RepRap-Flieger (The first 3D Printed RC plane!), Marcel Buth with his book(s) “3D Drucker: Business & Technik“, and also Dirck Eichel talking about crowd-funding and how the RepRap display was funded!
Of course it was all tied together when Marcus read a special note that came from Mr. Adrian Bowyer written just for the attendees and participants of the # OS3DC! What an awesome moment that was, and super cool of Marcus to make that happen!
